"That Magic Touch"

Standing

Max is a red, medium-coat dog carrying the genes for black tri--color, piebald markings, and long-hair coat type.

We are thrilled that Max helped produce three lovely red puppies, and pleasantly surprised to see two black tri-color puppies.   Two of the puppies have long-hair coats so he carries the recessive long-hair gene as well. His offspring also have a nice range of white markings, including two piebald puppies.   What more could we ask for in a stud dog?  Well, Max has OFA Fair hips and his CERF eye results are normal at 6 years of age.  (In this breed juvenile cataracts normally appear by 4 years of age).  Offspring from his first litter all had perfect normal CERF results at their juvenile eye exam.  And, bred to Sóley who has only single dewclaws, Max produced 3 puppies with double dewclaws and two puppies with one double and one single dewclaw.  Our puppies all have lovely snug tail curls and ears were upright as early as 6 weeks in one pup.

What we love about Max

Max stack

Max has wonderful breed type and good structure.  He is outstanding in coat quality, with extremely correct coat texture, abundant undercoat even in summer, impressive ruff, and stunning intense red coloration.  He has a gorgeous head with great breadth of skull, very firm ears of correct shape and placement, beautiful dark pigmentation around eyes and lips, and a true wedge-shaped muzzle that is shorter than his skull length.  He has the confident, alert bearing and the intelligent, kind and happy expression called for in the standard.

Max has a lot to offer to the breed in North America.  I'm very proud that our first litter was  sired by him and we believe this combination is worthy of an encore!
