Solhundur Tindra Óskastjarna, CGN, HIC

Tindra with Breeder-Grandma Monika K. , visiting from Iceland
Tindra was the first-born in the litter. We had the whelping box ready in the bedroom the previous day. Her mother had been digging at the carpet and chairs in the living room, and we heard her digging briefly at our bedsheets a couple of times in the night. But I never heard the panting that I expected to signal whelping was imminent, so the arrival of the first baby came as a surprise to all of us! Tindra was quite vigorous and we woke up to her little cries as she crawled around the whelping box. After her mom licked her mostly dry, she latched onto a nipple and it seems like she didn't stop nursing while the other pups were delivered, which went very smoothly.
Tindra became "Daddy's Girl" quite quickly and seemed to know she was staying with us from the start. She shows a great combination of features from both her parents and also had a very good temperament to fit into our household.
- November 18 - four weeks old
Tindra is turning a lovely color with quite a clear coat, just a few black hairs in it. She has a black mask, accented by a white blaze and muzzle, and a few white hairs on the back of her neck. She has a white stocking on one front leg and a white mitt on the other and her back feet and tail tip are also white.

old
Thanks to Monika and Rúnar for the photo!
Tindra has a full medium-hair coat which promises to be very dense and correct in texture. She has a full tail curl with a good hook and double dewclaws on her rear legs, single on the front.
At 6 months
Tindra had finished
two sets of puppy classes.
She also took Puppy Gymboree, a class
which introduces puppies to
baby-sized agility obstacles. She then completed a Rally-O
class.
Tindra is charming and vivacious. She
is always in a good mood and you can't help but smile with her even
when she's naughty. Tindra helped represent the breed at
the All
About Pets
show in Toronto and Dog Days in Scugog. Tindra goes to work
regularly with Scott and
has also done a few shifts at the store with me, she loves meeting
people!
She's very cuddly and will also lie in Scott's lap while he plays computer games.
Many people comment on how she
resembles her mother but as she develops her sire's influence is
shining through.
Career
Plans
Tindra has competed in three CKC conformation shows this year and her highest award was Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed, for a 2 point win on August 24, 2008. She has one leg towards her CKC Rally Novice title & we hope to start her in an agility foundations class in the fall. Next year, Tindra will have CERF and OFA prelim tests and we'll have a better idea of her future breeding prospects. In the meantime she will enjoy romping in the parks and beaches and growing up into a civilized little individual.
